Spazz & Suzie

Spazz is a 3 year old Blue & Gold Macaw. In his 4th home and hopefully his last. In his first home, he was electrocuted. Since then he has been extremely hyper active and he screams a lot. Unfortunately no one can handle the noise so they just keep rehoming Spazz. He was recently adopted with his friend Suzie by Misty, who took him to the vet first thing. Unfortunately his wings were in very bad condition. One wing was broken in two places, both breaks were never repaired. His other shoulder was entirely shattered. Spazz had surgery and now has 2 pins in one wing and 1 pin in the other. After the bandages were removed, Spazz's wings still hung, so Misty contacted the head vet at the University of Tennessee. He fears that Spazz's wings may have to be removed if he cannot gain control of them. He also wants to see Spazz if Misty can come up with $200 to take him up there.

Suzie is a Scarlet Macaw. He is 2 years old and he has had 3 homes. He is very scared of everything and is constantly screaming, he was also given away because no one wanted to put up with him. He is so young and can come around to being a pet again. Misty noticed that Suzie had a large hole in his chest, after taking him to the vet, they found out it was infected and contained puss. Now Suzie is healed and happy, when Suzie went to live with Misty, he was very afraid of her and her family. Now Suzie is a big cuddle bug.

The man who owned these birds last had them outside with birds of prey, in a very small cage. They were not taken care of and hardly ever fed. It's amazing these birds survived this terrible treatment. He called Misty because he wanted to "get rid" of the birds as they were driving him "crazy".
Misy took these birds in and is offering them the home they need and deserve, full of love and happiness. They will forever be pets, never rehomed or bred. Misty still owes $400 to this bad man plus $800+ in vet bills. She has until September 22nd to pay this man or he will come take the birds back. Please help Misty! We will be having some raffles soon, so keep checking the raffle page. In total we need to make $400 so Misty can keep the birds, at least $800 for vet bills, and $200 so Misty can take Spazz to the University. That's $1400 and rising.
