Age and Sex: 20 month old Female
How long have you had her: She came home one year ago last March.
What are her favorite activities: Climbing, exploring, eating
Does she get along with your other birds: For now.
What is the first phrase that comes to mind when you think of her: Freckle faced red headed monster (Kelly calls her that).
What attracted you to this breed: Personality, and I fell in love with her
Is she noisy or quiet: Basically quiet but can split concrete if she wants to!
Does she spend more time inside or outside of her cage: Inside when I am not home, outside if I am.
What is her favorite snack: Sprouts!
Describe the methods of training you used: The only training she got was perch poop training. She was put on a perch and told to poop when she came out of the cage. This taught her to poop less on me! Hehe!

My Hot Buy for this issue is from http://www.tlcparrottoys.com, all handmade parrot toys. I picked out a "Spiral Swing". It's a stainless steel wire with foam beads and bells. You can stretch it and use it to hold millet or other treats. It looks like a lot of fun, and there are many toys on this site that are fun and affordable. This toy is priced at $12.00

See the site and get the toy.

Arcade Overview
by Meghanxx4

For those who have yet to visit the arcade, I encourage you all to play some games and have some fun. You don’t even have to be great at games just have fun. The Arcade includes a selection of over 185 games, and daily tournaments. Here are just a few games chosen from the arcade.
This week’s games include, Mice 2, City Jumper and MJ Baby Drop.

Mice 2: In Mice 2 your job is to protect the cheese from the mice. There is a glowing ball in the middle which you can drag back and forth to eliminate as many mice as possible. The object of this game is to keep the cheese ‘alive’ as long as possible. There are several ‘power dots’ that may appear every now and then, which in include: Metal Blade – Gives the ball a larger range, Flame – Kills the mice with a flame aswell, Cheese Reincarnation - Reforms the cheese to it’s full size, Nuclear Strike – Kills all mice around. Good luck with playing Mice 2.

City Jumper: This game is so darn addicting to play I just had to write a review about it. There is an object to this game. The object of the game is to jump and pass as many levels and buildings as possible without hitting/touching them. You have nine lives (kind of funny since a cat has said to have nine lives and also they like to jump a lot). Anyway that’s all for City Jumper. Go play it! Have blast with it, it can get tricky sometimes!

MJ Baby Drop: The object of this game is to catch as many babies as possible. The more babies you catch in the basket the longer time you get to catch more babies which will lead to a higher score. You simply use your mouth to navigate the basket back and forth to catch the babies in various places. Make sure to be careful of the evil spider that come dropping, they will cause you to tip he basket and drop any babies you may catch.

That concludes this week’s Arcade Review!

Rainbow Bridge Obituaries
by Shea

Max, You weren't the nicest bunny in the world but from the moment I met you, you stole my heart. I think of how you did laps around your cage at the shelter begging for me to pick you. I miss you and your little attitude and hope you're having fun up there biting everyone! I love you.-Julie

Puff was a great bird, who had a tough life. In his 5 years, I was his 4th home. He wanted peope to think he was big and ugly, but he was soft and squishy inside. Kind of like a burnt marshmallow. He will be missed as I now have a hole in my life as well as a hole in my heart.-Cheri

Kiwi was an adorable little green budgie. He will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace Kiwi.-Written by Shea for Isabelle

Fred was a Brazilian Blue & Gold Macaw. He was a special needs bird, he lost one leg due to a flight injury and he had a cage mate named Ethel. She was his girlfriend for 9 years. He was a retired breeder and such a sweet bird, his favorite food; walnuts. -Amanda

Debate Central
by Jessika

During the past century, the average temperature of the earth’s surface has risen around 1.3 ° F.

Most people conclude that the cause of this is an observed increase in greenhouse gas concentrations. This increase is said to lead to the warming of the surface and lower portions of the atmosphere.
There are a few other theories as to what could be causing this increase;
Solar variation: Changes in the amount of energy emmited by the sun. This principal is based on the 11 year solar cycle.
Volcanoes: Some scientists say that volcanoes could be causing a minute change in the atmosphere’s temperature.
There are also, other people, who say that this is just normal. Looking at a chart oh atmospheric temperatures dating back to the first ice age, there are several “warming periods”.
The subject of global warming is very interesting and all of the theories sound plausible, yet it is hard for the scientific community to agree on one.

The Budgie Adventures: Mr. Bibble & Darla
by Shea

The budgies were busy napping when Marcus came home. He tried to be quiet as he set up a little play area. Two play gyms sat in the middle of the room. One belonging to the budgies, and the other Conrads.
Marcus' attempt to be quiet failed, both budgies were awake, and intently watching Marcus.
"What do you think he's doing?" asked Darla.
"Looks like we are going to play," said Mr. Bibble.

Conrad was still perched in the same spot, watching his surroundings. Marcus walked over to Conrad's cage, commanding the bird to step up onto his finger.
"He knows the same tricks as us," whispered Darla.
Marcus set Conrad on his play gym, and then walked over to the budgies' cage. He comomanded them to step up, and step up they did. He sat them on their play gym. The three birds stared at each other.
This staring contest lasted about three minues, then Mr. Bibble started to make his way closer to Conrad.
"What are you doing!?" asked Darla nervously.
"What does it look like?" replied Mr. Bibble.
"Don't! You'll get in trouble!" exclaimed Darla.
She looked up at Marcus. He didn't look concerned, he was just watching the three of them.
"Human doesn't care," said Mr. Bibble.
"Well Conrad may be mean and attack you!" worried Darla.
"I will not," quietly replied Conrad out of nowhere.
"See, I told you," said Mr. Bibble.
Darla perched there, silently.
"Hello," Mr. Bibble said, "I'm Mr. Bibble, and this is Darla."
"Hello," whispered Conrad.
"Speak up," said Mr.Bibble, "No need to be shy."
"Hello," repeated Conrad, this time with more assurance.

"Like humans, puberty brings on a lot of different hormones and an attitude problem. As your bird matures into adulthood, he/she will be experiencing puberty. Some birds will take it better than others but there are some that will need a wake up call. Don't give your bird away or ignore your bird during these fits, instead treat your bird the same way as you always did. Keep your bird stimulated and happy and don't give up on him. He will eventually get over puberty and lead a normal and healthy life with you at his side."-Liz
